Özet
Five breeding lines and six cultivars were grown at three locations (Bornova, Menemen and Aydin) in 1998-1999 season in a randomized complete- block design with three replications in order to determine the effects of genotype and location on grein yield and some quality traits. Grain yield, 1000-kernel weight, SDS sedimentation and wet gluten content were measured. The combined analyses of variance indicated that differences among both genotype and location means were significant for all traits. The genotypic effect for 1000-kernel weight and also locational effect for the other three traits were found to notably contribute to the total variation Genotypes with higher mean values tended to have larger standard errors for all traits except 1000-kernel weight. The sign and magnitude of correlations among yield and quality traits changed under diverse locations. It was concluded that the genotypes should be separately assessed for yield and quality in each location.
