Özet
The Sectioning Technique in Age Determination by Otolith.Different techniques could be used in age determination by otoliths.Direct observation, dying, breakand-burn, acidification and sectioning are the most commonly used methods.Sectioning is the widely accepted technique among the mentioned methods.This is appropriate for adult individuals and particularly for thick otoliths that we difficult to examine under stereoscopic microscope.Additionally, dying and acidification process gives more precise results in age determinations.In the present study, it is aimed to give detailed information on sectioning method, which is widely accepted method.
