Özet
In this study, the controlled release tablet of diltiazemhydrochloride was developed. The controlled releasetablets were prepared with ethyl cellulose by changingthe ratio of diltiazem hydrochloride and the in vitrorelease studies were carried out by using an ultrasonicwater bath. According to release results, a new equationwas developed that can be used to estimate the release ofdrug as a function of time and drug content in theformulation. In addition, the effect of ultrasound on therelease of diltiazem hydrochloride from controlledrelease dosage forms and relationships between releaserate constants and drug contents were investigated. Thisstudy showed that the developed equation cansuccessfully be used to estimate the effect of ultrasoundon the release of drug from the formulations preparedwith different concentrations of diltiazem hydrochloride. It was concluded that ultrasound has a very importanteffect on the release of drug and increases drug releaseobviously. Keywords: ultrasound; controlled release; pulsatilerelease
