Özet
The aim of this in vitro study is to evaluate the biocompatibility of different oral care products containing either sodium fluoride, casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP), or hydroxyapatite. The eluates were prepared from three different test products with different active components as sodium fluoride, CPP-ACP and hydroxyapatite in accordance with ISO 10993-5 standards. The supernatant eluates in the form 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions were applied to L-929 cells and the metabolic activity of the cells were determined by MTT analysis after 3 min, 24 h and 72 h of cell culture. The cells not exposed to any agent were considered as control. The data were analysed via GraphPad Prism with One-Way ANOVA and Tukey post-hoc test. The cell viability showed a statistically significant decrease for the sodium fluoride compared to the control at each dilution and time point (p<0.0001). In contrast to this, cell viability for CPP-ACP and hydroxyapatite was in the tolerable limit of 70% cell viability at all dilutions at 3 min. There was no difference compared to control for hydroxyapatite group (1:4 and 1:8 dilution) at 3 min and for CPP-ACP group at 3 min and 72 h for all dilution rates. The tested remineralization agents exhibit different biocompability profiles depending on the agent content, dilution rate and exposure time. These factors should be taken into consideration for the usage.
