Özet
Analysis of investment profitability in trawl fishery, Foça (Aegean Sea).Foça is located in the Aegean Sea and characterised by a multi-gear and multispecies fishery.Trawl fishery is one of the most important fishing activity in the region.In the present study, trawlers are revealed from the profitability point of view during the year of 1999-2000 fishing season.Static and dynamic methods such as economic rantability (Rate of Return on Investment), rate of turnover, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), pay back period, were used and these values and rates were carried out for trawl fishery.Results of the study indicate that 70% of trawlers are not economically sustainable and need to be better managed.
