Özet
Induction motor drives dominate the industry and are among the most energy-intensive systems. Various energy efficiency enhancement strategies have been proposed. Open-End Winding Induction Motors (OEWIMs) with dual inverter topology are gaining popularity in industrial applications such as electric transportation and aeronautics. This paper proposes a new hybrid control approach to optimize the energy efficiency of an OEWIM. The design of the proposed control approach combines: (i) a control law derived from the OEWIM model, which accounts for all losses, (ii) online flux optimization using Loss Minimization Control (LMC) for each operating point (OP), and (iii) torque estimation using the Luenberger observer. The performance and robustness of this approach are demonstrated via simulations and experimentally. The results obtained show a significant improvement in energy efficiency over conventional techniques across a wide range of OPs. This research thus contributes to the advancement of high-efficiency electric drive systems, offering promising prospects for cost-effective industrial applications.
