Özet
In this project, the soil properties and musical sound features of the African originUdus with a deep history, depending on processing methods were analyzed. Udusfirst emerged in middle Africa then spread among many regions of the world. Since1970, udu ceramic percussion instruments have been produced in many countries. In our research, clay from Avanos district of Nevşehir and Menemen district of İzmircity have been processed and examples of Zafudu percussion series (udus) wereproduced. Samples of these instruments have been analyzed by XRD and SEM. Then sound samples of the instruments have been analyzed by signal analysis andtheir musical qualities were tried to be characterized.
