Özet
<p>Objective: This methodological study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the ReproductiveConcerns After Cancer Scale.Method: The study included 301 women aged 18–45 diagnosed with cancer in Izmir, Turkey. The language validity was estab-lished through the translation–back-translation. Construct validity was assessed via exploratory factor analysis and confirma-tory factor analysis. Reliability was evaluated using internal consistency coefficients and test–retest analysis. Results: The Content Validity Index was 0.90. Exploratory factor analysis identified a four-factor structure explaining 67.88% ofthe total variance (KMO = 0.87, p < 0.001). Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed this structure with acceptable fit indices (X2/df = 3.34, RMSEA = 0.07, CFI = 0.90). The total Cronbach's alpha was 0.88, with subscales ranging from 0.75 to 0.90. Test–retestreliability was high (ICC = 0.99). Item-total correlations ranged from 0.31 to 0.72.Conclusions: The Turkish version of the Reproductive Concerns After Cancer Scale is a valid and reliable 18-item tool. Oncologynurses can utilize this scale to effectively assess reproductive concerns in women of reproductive age, guiding counselling andsupportive care interventions.1 | IntroductionIn recent years, there have been positive developments in cancertreatment, significantly improving survival rates post-treatment(Gucluel and Can 2023). Worldwide, it is estimated that thereare 53.5 million total cancer patients alive within 5 years of di-agnosis, with 27.7 million being women (International Agencyfor Research on Cancer (GLOBOCAN) 2022). In Turkey, thereare reported 679.3 thousand cases of cancer, with 341.3 thou-sand being women (International Agency for Research onCancer (GLOBOCAN) 2022). When looking at the ratios, it isobserved that half of the individuals diagnosed with cancer arewomen. This further complicates the already stressful processof cancer diagnosis. Considering the increasing prevalence ofadvanced maternal-age pregnancies in developed countries, itis anticipated that some women diagnosed with cancer duringtheir reproductive years may not have yet initiated or completedtheir family planning. In cancer treatment processes, the use ofchemotherapy, radiation, surgery or hormonal therapy methodsmay damage reproductive organs (Waimey et al. 2015).With the advancement of technology, various treatment op-tions have been introduced to combat the increasing incidenceof cancer, leading to a decrease in mortality rates. However, women exposed to gonadotoxic treatments such as chemother-apy and radiotherapy may experience a decrease in ovarianreserve and premature ovarian insufficiency.
