Özet

In this study we aimed to investigate the effect of an experimental remineralization agent containing bioactive glass on the surface of enamel. Thirty axial flat enamel surfaces were prepared for our investigation. After being embedded in acrylic, these samples were randomly divided into three groups and treated with three different remineralization agents: G1. Casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate [GC Tooth Mousse]; G2. Experimental remineralization agent containing bioactive glass; G3. Artificial saliva solution. The samples underwent demineralization using 37% phosphoric-acid for a duration of 30 seconds prior to the application of remineralization agents. Then the agents were administered twice daily for a period of 5 minutes, duration of 10 days. Following the removal of the agents, the samples were stored in artificial saliva solution. The surface hardness of the samples was assessed on three separate times in total: initially, following demineralization, and after remineralization, using Vickers microhardness testing. Microhardness analyses have been used to assess demineralization and remineralization changes on enamel. SEM-anaylsis was performed for qualitative evaluations. In both groups 1 and 2, remineralizing agents has demonstrated significant outcomes in terms of improving surface microhardness when compared to the control group (p < 0.5). In comparison to Group 1, Group 2 exhibits a higher hardness value. Nevertheless, no statistically significant findings were observed between the two groups (p=0.144). Both agents exhibited a reasonable capacity to restore enamel microhardness and remineralize demineralized teeth. In contrast to casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate, the experimental agent demonstrated a more pronounced remineralization effect.
