Summary

The aim of this study is to examine the humor styles of goalball athletes according to different variables. Research 2017 Turkey 1st and 2nd League men's goalball goalball competitions for ladies and 58 men participating athletes participated in a total of 89 athletes including 31 female athletes participating in the promotion group competitions. The original name is “Humor Stles Questionnaire” as data collection tool, Martin et al. (2003) and adaptation to Turkish was done by Yerlikaya (2003) using the “Humor Styles Scale”. Because participants participating in the survey were visually impaired, the questionnaires were conducted by the interviewer in the same way as the interview method. Participants were asked to voluntarily participate in the work and there was no coercion. The scale was filled out in a quiet environment, sometimes in groups or in groups. SPSS 21.0 statistical package program was used in the evaluation of the data. In order to test whether the data collection tools have a normal distribution, the kurtosis and skewness coefficients were examined and it was understood that the coefficients varied between +1 and -1 (Karaatlı, 2006). Therefore, parametric tests have been used. According to Manova results on all scores of the Humor Styles scale, male and female goalball athletes showed significant differences in humor styles (Wilks Lambda (λ) =, 804; F (4,84) = 5,132; p <0,01). This finding suggests that the scores obtained from the linear com- ponent composed of scores of Humor styles vary depending on the gender status. Significant differences were not found between participants' scores of other variables such as age, marital status, educational status and duration of sports, and scores of humor style (p <0,05). As a result, it is understood that goalball athletes have different humor styles in terms of their gender, age, marital status, educational status and sporting age do not affect their humor styles.
