Özet
Energy represents one of the highest costs behind personnel wages and medicines in the healthcare sector and is therefore considered a major cost area. Hospitals are obliged to maintain their existence like other business. Therefore, hospital administrations should make productivity analysis. It is possible for health institutions to produce an uninterrupted service with the effective and efficient use of medical devices among other factors. Regular monitoring and analysis of health expenditure and policies in Turkey is important for sustainability discussions. This article aimed to create awareness of optimizing energy while maintaining quality in the provision of health services in medical devices. In conclusion, the energy density of hospital equipment, equipment types and medical units, the ways of using the equipment and whether the equipment is used efficiently and the share of the total electrical load were calculated to create a more efficient energy consumption model in this study.
