Özet

This study examines the evolving role of central banks in taking climate change into consideration within the financial system. The paper reviews existing climate change agreements and policies and analyses the transmission channels through which climate risks impact economies and the financial systems. It also discusses various central bank responses, including green monetary policies, climate stress testing, and regulatory measures aimed at promoting sustainable finance. While the traditional roles of central banks are important, it is emphasised that they have additional responsibilities when it comes to dealing with climate change. By reviewing the related literature, it is found that coordinated efforts for climate change are vital for all countries.
