Summary
frequently misquoted or mangled: 'The time is out of join' (p.396) and there are many other howlers.Lurking with Shakespeare and the Elizabethan Reformation is a series of important questions and some smart observations. But the volume certainly needed further editing and a tighter focus. This could have been an important survey of Shakespeare's Elizabethan plays and their relation to the religious tensions of their day.But the whole project demands much more care, caution and application to deliver on these objectives.
