Özet

In this study, agricultural production areas, tractors and agricultural machinery of Niğde and its districts between 2004 and 2020 were examined. In the study, statistical data of agricultural land and production, tractors and agricultural machinery belonging to Niğde and its districts, taken from the official website of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), were used. In determining the level of agricultural mechanization, agricultural area per tractor (ha/tractor), number of tractors per 1000 hectares of agricultural land (tractor/1000 ha), tractor power per unit area (kW/ha) and average tractor power (kW) data were used. Under these groups, the data belonging to the Niğde, and districts were examined separately. Niğde province constitutes 1.19% of the total agricultural land in Turkey. The distribution of the products produced according to the areas was calculated as, 16.58% dried beans, 14.38% rye, 13.80% cabbage, 13.76% apples, 12.35% potatoes, 3.75% oats, 3.16% cherries and 0.97% wheat. Altunhisar is the district where grains are produced intensively. In this district, the age range of combine harvesters was found to be at the lowest level with 0-5 years. Bor is a district where sugar beet (79.90%) and vegetable production are intense and approximately 95% of greenhouse agriculture is made. Çamardı has the lowest rate with the number of agricultural machinery. While the district with the lowest agricultural area is Çiftlik; Central district is in the first place in terms of agricultural area, number of tractors and number of agricultural machinery. Combine harvesters in the Merkez are distributed between the ages of 5- 20 and there are no tractors over 70 HP in the district. Ulukışla district has the most and the oldest (11 years and above) combine harvesters. Ulukışla is also the district with the highest number of tractors over 70 HP. Agricultural mechanization level indicators of Niğde province; 15.10 tractors/ha were determined as 66.20 tractors/1000 ha, the tractor power per unit area was determined as 1.79 kW/ha and the average tractor power was determined as 36.91 kW.
