Özet

This study presents numerical simulations of a model test implemented for an 8-9 MW offshore wind turbine with large diameter monopile foundation in very dense sand. The numerical analyses were performed in OpenSeesPL, employing the Pressure-Dependent Multi-Yield Plasticity (PDMY) constitutive model representing soil behaviour under undrained cyclic loading conditions. Numerical predictions were evaluated against experimental measurements of pile-head displacement, rotation, excess pore water pressure ratio, and shear strain distributions. The scope of the investigation is to develop modelling recommendation for simulating soil-pile interaction, including interface elements, as these are not available in the software. The results demonstrate that interface element properties have a substantial impact on monopile response and surrounding soil response, with certain configurations showing close agreement with the experimental data. These findings emphasize the necessity of accurate interface modelling to reliably predict monopile performance under cyclic lateral loading.
